All tile are made from a stoneware clay body suitable for use indoors or out. Using an updated version of an age old process, raw clay is pressed into plaster molds duplicating the original design. It is then finished, bisque fired and glazed by hand. Though more labor intensive than spray application and requiring the touch of a skilled artisan, hand application gives the glaze a depth and richness unique to handmade tile. Glazed in rich bronzes, deep greens and sumptuous blues with complex patinas, their handmade elegance is refreshingly captivating.

Almost all the examples shown on this website incorporate a high proportion of decorative relief tile relative to the amount of field tile used. But a layout for a kitchen backsplash or a fireplace surround certainly does not have to be this elaborate. It was our aim to show just a few of the more complex design possibilities. With so many colors and designs to choose from, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Please take your time and have fun.
